ICT, over the many decades of its existence, has inculcated an indomitable entrepreneurial spirit in all those who pass through its hallowed portals. The history of India’s chemical and textile industries is intertwined with the Institute, with many stalwarts, visionaries and founders of successful enterprises having been educated at the Institute.
On the occasion of Republic Day, on January 26, 2021, ICT inaugurated the S. M. Mokashi Incubation Centre for Nurturing Innovations and Catalysing Entrepreneurship (ICT-NICE). ICT-NICE is being registered as a Section 8 not-for-profit company.
ICT-NICE currently hosts six incubatees and eleven pre-incubatees in the areas of chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, food technology, biotechnology, green technology and education.
ICT-NICE has recently been awarded the prestigious Inclusive Technology Business Incubator (NIDHI-iTBI) grant by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

- ICT-NICE is recognised as Incubation Centre by Government. M/s. Green Shift Energy Pvt. Ltd and M/S Instavet Biopharm Pvt Ltd received the DBT-BIRAC Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) grant of Rs. 50 Lakhs each.
- Incubation at ICT-NICE is governed by the ICT Innovation and Start-up Policy formulated and implemented in 2020.
- Two Pre-incubatee teams emerged as Smart India Hackathon Winners 2021:
- ICT student team led by Suraj Kapale & Harshal Patil with Esha Attar, Shruti Ghadge, Lelona Pradhan, and Dnyaneshwar Doke won the Smart India Hackathon 2022 organised by AICTE and cash prize of Rs 1 lakh in the Senior hardware category at IIT Roorkee for their innovation Zero Spillage Milking Can.
