Manasi Bhogale First Prize Craft ICT Art Exhibition 2019
Team ICT-Mumbai participated in the prestigious annual synthetic biology competition International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) held on October 24-28, 2018 in Boston, USA. The first team from ICT participated in iGEM in 2017. The team worked on the project ‘SmartSoil: Rooting for Sustainable Agriculture’, which proposed a synthetic biology-based approach for soil management. Team ICT-Mumbai was awarded a bronze medal in the ‘Environment’ track.
The team comprised of the following students from ICT: Ninad Kumbojhkar, Supriya Prakash, Bhargav Patel and Atharva Chikhalikar, all final year B Chem Engg students. The team was mentored by Dr. Shalini Deb and Dr. Shamlan M. S. Reshamwala of the DBT-ICT Centre for Energy Biosciences.
